I wanted to talk about one element of the enchantment system: overenchanting. Since Steven is considering a weapon break mechanic as a part of the system, I wanted to spotlight the mechanic and discuss whether or not it was a good idea to have it in the game. That said, we currently do not know much more about the overenchanting, so discussion has stalled. As always, Ashes of Creation is in Alpha 1, and everything is subject to change.

  1. My opinion on over enchanting will depend on the rest of the artisan skills system. We know that most gear will be player made, so if there is an artisan skills system that produces a lot of gear, over enchanting and breaking the item will not be an issue. I'm excited to see if they make any advancements on this in Alpha 2.
