The vast majority of these complaints are just placeholders. You realize this is a true Alpha test right? Most systems don't exist and the stuff that is in the game has very little functionality.
I seen you last Saturday in the test. Trust me I was really tempted to throw a fire ball at you haha. After I got bored doing quests and dying from walking down hills from fall damage I was just causing pvp chaos in the noobie camp. The big brawl from several people made it really fun.
would be wicked to see the starter area grow like the nodes. at the start it would be foggy abandoned ruins and scales up as the beginners clear their starting quest line. after the first hundred it grows and you see random npc travelers visiting to inspect the anomaly of reviving warriors, after the next 500 it grows again to include vendors, and again at 5000 to have builders rebuilding the ruins. the 500 to 5000 difference would make the start area relevant to the whole game experience. say you were in the first 500 players, youd have a reason to look back on the starting areas, and vice versa if you wer of the later 5000. you can watch your favorite streamer start his adventure in some desolate area and when you begin its fully built and looking epic.
I can say with some confidence that the visual NDA will be postponed again, I still don't think they will be happy to show what they have achieved yet. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying wider audiences might not get that it is an alpha and is not remotely close to the game's finished state.
Thanks for a vid mate, when the testing begins tho?as it says 14th right? or before kind of puzzled ..also per new cosmetics should be on the 7th?.Regards
Why is it that they are not displaying weapons unless they are fighting? Running around with nothing on the hip or back, then suddenly they appear. It's weird.
Nice
Instead of autoloot, they should have a key combo so that you can loot every mob in the area, it shows up in the loot box, then click loot everything.
Interesting video as always.
There should be an instant cd on dodge, instead they should put a mechanism on dodge where the more frequently you use dodge the slower you get while dodging the next time and after a certain number of dodge you can no longer use dodge and it goes to cd, you need to wait few secs for the cd to be over before you can use it again. While dodge cd is in cd your Base movement speed goes down by 20 or 30%. I think this will be a balanced and sensible approach to do dodges. I have always felt like not being able to dodge consecutively is unrealistic as it's not a complex movement, yes if there is no cd on dodge then people will abuse it but that's why there is the penalty of increasingly reduced speed of dodging action every time a dodge is down consecutively(let's say using dodge within 1 or 1.5 sec in between each dodge counts as a constructive dodging) and after doing it let's say 3 or 4 times in a row makes it go to cd for 3 sec and during tis 3 sec even your Base movement speed is reduced. I think this way it will be balanced and the fights special PvP will be much more dynamic and fun to watch. Take the example of jumping in pubg or cod and dashing in CoD or Apex legend. There is no cd on jumping or dashing there but it still works awesome there.
liked and subbed with my army of bots.
I hate it when people run past mobs in dungeons just to get to the boss, I think a good incentive would be killing mobs increase the chance of drop rates, also dependent on how many mobs you kill could also increase the amount of "basic" loot as well, for instance, if you kill 20+ elite sandal casters you can receive 1.3x crafting materials + 0.000…054% chance of hitting the rare drop table (applicable only to final boss drop table not every mob kill).
Edit #2: Also having objectives to complete could also increase drop chances, for instance, 4 mechanical levers or switches randomly spawn in and out of dungeons, pulling all 4 before final boss could unlock the chance of hitting a new drop table with unique items / collectibles. This would encourage exploration of the vast dungeons instead of a fuck fest run from A to B.
I know this is not Alpha specific idea but a more general idea for interactive game play.
Really good feedback, hope they see this video!
Loved your video Narc, these are critical systems that I hope get polished sooner rather then later.
Kill, Loot system is fine.
Game needs a Kill, Reward system
So that you can always collect a bounty from mobs after PvE so that you do not rage quit when a PK drops you.
Find a way to make Death less painful and the casual players wont mind being farmed for content.
Good one dood
You think streamer´s are in danger? I guess alot ppl going to hunt them PK for fun..
It's actually listed in the known issues that "Redwood Lumber harvest nodes are not located near the starting area". I've been able to find trees and herbs in pretty much every node, and ores are mostly located in Traitor's Rock.
I agree that some mechanics on named mobs would be great to make things more interesting. I think that a sprinkling of unique drops throughout the map would be pretty cool too. Overall an incentive to find and kill things would be really cool.
I remember steven saying somewhere that the current 'kneel for two seconds before looting' is a very temporary measure, and with the kinds of changes they've been making recently, I wouldn't be surprised if it was changed before the NDA drop.
My personal #1 for things that need to be improved for the Alpha One is the mounting/dismounting. Sometimes I can't mount no matter what I do, and I'm pretty frequently affected by the swimming mounted bug that forces a relog to unmount.
If that bug fix can't make it in, then the PK corruption system would be a close second. I would love to see people be set loose in that regard.
@narc I found all of the gathering spots.
Full stop I don't think they should lift the NDA yet. Recall it.
These are some really excellent suggestions. Minor irritations like this can actually leave a huge impression when it comes to trying a new game but they tend to get put on the development backburner.
From personal experience it reminds me of when I first tried Bioware's TOR MMO after having previously played WoW, all the small bits of polish I'd taken for granted were no longer there, the brand new 200 million dollar MMO actually felt cheap in comparison.
I hope Intrepid takes note, the small things are critical.
