This video is an in depth look at all the options for character builds in #AshesofCreation. We will use information from the #AlphaTest as well as what we have been told by #Intrepid and Steven Shariff. The goal is to bring up as much relevant information as possible in order to make an informed decision on character builds and balance moving forward. As we were told in the last development live stream, Alpha is when the community can have the most influence on the game through feedback so let me know what you think in the comments below!

  1. I'm hoping that the augments make up for any "imbalance" that might exist in the game. One of my major disappointments with World of Warcraft was the removal of resistance gear. Vanilla was not by any means balanced, but if you played a feral druid with full frost resistance gear, you could still win versus a frost mage. I'm hoping that augments and gear will have a similar effect. This would give players meaningful decisions which could improve game balance (or make it worse. I'm not a developer so I would not know).

  2. Great vid! You make a great point about the amount of permutations being overwhelming so how they are introduced and when will be vital. With the time it's expected to take to level and assuming much of these additional customizations are gated behind different level requirements I'm hopeful that you will have the time to learn and adapt each one individually rather than many at the same time.
