  1. Great video man! I think with the NDA lifting its been fascinating seeing how everyone has been reacting. I dont completely agree about peoples minds not changing though. You do have to remember that the people who are on either extreme of excited or thinking its all a scam are going to be the more vocal groups of people. And I say this because until around a month ago I personally thought the game was just a big scam. It wasn't until after seeing dev streams and seeing the actual progress they have made that I finally realized they might actually be able to pull it off.

So tldr I think the perception of the game we see may not have changed a whole lot. But I also think peoples minds ARE being changed.

  2. I think it was a lowkey brilliant move by Stephen. If people had been stacked up in Twitch chats during that first weekend when the delays to us even getting in the server went on for hours, and play button issues were going on, there would have been riots. But, doing it this way, he got the best of all worlds. He avoided the two major MMO expansion launches competing with his Alpha, avoided the general public getting to see the nastier side of true development alpha testing, but by lifting just the verbal part of the NDA after the test weekend, he caused a firestorm of activity within the community. Views and engagement surrounding the game were way up for 2 solid weeks after the dropping of the verbal nda. Now, was that his specific plan? Who knows, but it worked out about as well as a human could hope.

  3. Lifting the verbal NDA was a good move to stay as transparent as possible without letting all the people who don't know anything about game development shit all over it.
