What is Ashes of Creation?

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world. Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.

Risk Vs Reward
All across Verra, you have the opportunity to experience massive warfare, participate in epic trade caravans, and gather valuable components to craft exquisite items. Not only will your fellow players be your adversaries; the creatures of the land and the very environment itself will pose a constant and fresh challenge. Will you siege castles to become royalty, defeat other guilds to showcase your prowess, shape the marketplace by being a successful trader, or earn renown by developing your artisan crafting skills? This is your story, you tell us!

  1. Treasure Maps need to be yours, even if you're in a group.
If people want your Treasure, they should have to fight you for it.
And no I don't mean looting a Treasure Box turns you purple.

  2. Survey pylons could be a good mechanic for treasure maps. Another game I played you go to a area, you put down 1 surveyor and it puts out a cone which which signals that the treasure is inside that cone, then you go to the end of the cone and place another one down and it puts down another cone which hopefully with overlap from the first surveyor you can get a rough idea where the treasure is, you can only have 3 surveyors down at once.

  3. To be honest they feel really good, but dont know why Ash rarity scales like complete dogshit (many resources scale like total dogshit in all honesty in P2). I have now 3 purple maps that i cant do because after 4000 ash trees the best i got was blue. Either revert the change where you need map and excavation to match or make it so each affects something else (Example: map rariry increase rarity of what you get, excavation rarity increases quantity or what Tier materials you get). They feel good but like many things it is in a very rough alpha state. I also agree witht the Hot/Cold approach (had it in Gw2 and would feel better than current one, or have the Red aura dirt pile with a shovel on top as it was in P1). At the moment i feel very underwhelmed and dissapointed on how unrewarding crafting feels for how much work it requires, luckly maps help with the copper zinc issues.

  4. Also there was a bug but its already been fixed on PTR, when someone opens a treasure map it spawns a chest that anyone can use and it will keep respawning until the original user claims the chest for themselves or removes the quest. It still requires an excavation kit and your own map to be able to dig it up but it makes searching for the treasure a non-issue anymore.

  5. The rewards are way too good. They basically remove mining due to the amount of minerals in the chest. 40 copper in one chest is insane when it would take 10+ hours to naturally find 10-15 copper nodes in the world. Making chests hard to find that spawn in poi's is great as it makes pvp happen more often, which should, considering the crazy quantity of rewards from the chests.

  6. I would love to hear the feedback from Intrepid on this. This being a PvX game do they intend it to be a contested system where you could do all the work and your spot, "Mound", can be taken? I mean people can steal your treasure maps currently correct? (If they PvP you…)
