You don't need to do any of that. Have the Node despawn after x hours of non harvest.
This fixes the problem with ore types that can't be mined, and also with ore types that are never mined because nobody wants them (basalt / granite). Make the despawn timer like 4 hours or something so if you want to reset spots for basalt and granite, you can mine them and wait for a respawn or u can just wait for the despawn to happen.
