I hope you are all enjoying the journey in Ashes of Creation so far! There are so many more videos to come and there simply isn’t enough time in the day to edit it all!

  2. Kind of sound like the lack of resources on the map may be intentional.
Maybe then it would spur the node vs nodes warfare in the future of the game in just the wanting to build up your city and expand before a neighboring node can block your expansion.
If the world were to be a utopic dream land of resources I doubt there would be much conflict.
Just like the real world scarcity inherently makes value and time to resources gathered is a is a commodity that loses strength if there is to much supply or no longer a need for said supply.

Finding that balance is a tough challenge I'm sure the Intrepid Team are up to it though

  3. after spending 40 hours in AoC, I can say that it was a huge mistake to play this much… as now, I literally cannot enjoy any other game, I just want to go back to verra, to play with my guild to interract with randoms I met on my travels between POIs, I havent felt this way for a very long time, and I hope that during this development process Intrepid will not mess this up and upon release the game will be even better 🙂

  4. I've been looking at as simply testing. to be honest I haven't found the alpha to be especially enjoyable. combat is fun, but there's only so much mindless fighting I can take. there isn't really a reason to engage in combat currently other than just to grind levels, which aren't enjoyable to me. crafting isn't enjoyable at all currently. what's there seems to function well enough, but it's not enjoyable. I admit, I had hoped for more in terms of crafting and expected combat to be lackluster at first in alpha 2…. turns out they did the exact opposite.

  5. Scarcity of resources is a design decision. There obviously needs to be tweaking done to ensure it strikes a good balance but I don't think it is intended for you to be able to just casually run around and easily obtain everything you would need to power through your artisan skills and likewise node and settlement advancement at the same time. I very much enjoy that fact. Verra is not a land of abundance and there is supposed to be conflict bred from that design.

  6. I've said it in global and I'll say it here. Zinc, Copper and ruby is NOT hard to find. its EVERYWHERE. My storage is FULL of the stuff.
Say you've never played AA without saying it. Look off the beaten track peoples and you might find some glory.

  7. Narc I noticed in your video you said we had all apprentice crafts up and running but we still need the hideworks, cookhouse, and laboratory up in order to get the last apprentice skills fully online (tanning, leatherworking, fishing, cooking, Arcane engineering, hunting, & alchemy). But it's only a matter of time!

  8. actually tend to disagree with the player handholding point. I feel like the comprehensive tutorials sometimes are boring and I just want to enjoy the game at my own pace and kind of discover the mechanics organically if that makes sense.

  9. Tbh bro I just hope Ashes is a success, more so for your sake as your whole content creation and youtube channel is completely based around the success of this game.

You deserve it in other words.

  10. The game is trash and will be whenever it ever releases. This is not going to be casual friendly and is going to be trash. I used basic vocabulary just so we can come back and check it out without detail. Ha!

  11. The game looks like a whole bunch of already has been done before. More spam fighting, UI is generic. Stagnant NPC cities that are dull and boring. More dumb quests for those who are clueless in games. Wake me up when MMO companies start to do something new and fresh.

  12. I disagree with you about the scarcity of resources, I think it's actually really good. It slows the pace of progression and makes people have to choose between personal progression and community progression via the node buildings. It makes collecting resources more about hunting them down and less about just grinding to get them gathered. Sure its frustrating in the moment to be looking for hours to find a few copper ore, but on the other end of it, when you finally get something crafted, or a buy order finished, it feels really good. I do like the idea of mines and caverns, but I think having the scarcity of resources we currently experience isn't a bad thing, and should be kept somewhat in tact moving forward.

  13. Call me crazy but I noticed an issue with resource spawn locations. I mined ruby then returned to the same spot to find the resource respawned as Iron, which no one was able to collect; leaving that location stuck as iron forever. Multiply this by the %chance for resources to change to higher tiers after being collected and the map eventually has no copper/ruby
