Fishing is actually very straightforward and pretty much AFK (doesn’t sound like this is intended to be afk in the future though).
Once you get past the potential griefing in the laggy spawn area, you can start doing the quests and professions necessary for your mount! Fishing may not be the most exciting profession in ashes of creation, but it’s decent afk xp and silver. Or good for raw food/cooking.
