Before I rant, I agree about it not sounding unprofessional. Thank you for the constant videos as well Acco <3 . I feel that every one is so focused on sounding and acting "professional" I feel that this image gets in the way of many developers and giving out their actual opinions and feelings to everyone. Which i feel causes stagnation on the games as a whole making everyone not want piss off/ "offend" other companies that could do marketing campaigns to squash them. I think the system of the market is fucked as a whole personally. Just my opinion and thoughts.
I am 100% fine with vanity cash shops. BDO's original cash shop was like that (KR version) but then they started adding bonus' to the gear. Mounts (that don't give bonus' like some of FFXIV mounts,) outfits that don't give bonuses are fine. (I hate shaders, like WF.) The minute they add game changing mechanics (like boosts imo) it alters the game. The fact there is a marketplace means there can be p2w or as pay to get faster.
For a small correction AoC is free (no box cost) and only a $15 subscription fee. If you want perks like skins or a multiple month discount then the initial investment will go up.
Its already to complicated to be succesfull. Casual players will never play or hold on to something whats already negative in the news. If they want to put a cashshop in it I don't mind. If the core players are mad about something casual players will look what the fuss is all about. I looked into aoc but i still can't make up what the content is about. But maybe thats my mistake…
I think Sharif's statement came from the heart as a player not as a "professional", even though he used the ashes account. He is obviously bothered by the same BS that most of us MMO players care about. I support his thoughts 100% on this matter. I also believe that he has a different outlook on this, as he has already made his fortunes from earlier days of supplemental drinks and is able to be free from investors as he has funded it himself to completion. I have a hard time trusting people now a days, but Sharif is so transparent that I feel he is more trust worthy than others these days when it comes to the MMO scene. Here's hoping.
My money is on ubie soft is where Amazon got there inspiration.
If I remeber correctly AoC is using AWS. My guess that's the only reason he apologized.
I agree with Stephen. I WAS excited for New World but naw not buying anymore. I really hope AoC takes this info and makes their game amazing
