  1. Everything worked out just the way we hoped.
We broke it, they fixed it, we broke it, they fixed it!
And everyone was having so much fun, it drew out a DDOS attack, which will greatly help them for the future!

  3. It was a success for what they were trying to test. Patches came, and the bug got fixed. Better stability started to show up with every patch update. They progressed, and critical core game tech and server tech information was gathered. The DDOS attack will harden their security and backup plans in the future. I laughed at the idiot streamers who could not help themselves and pointed out everything the game did not have. They would default back to the game that has been developing for 8 years. Comparing a new up-and-coming gaming development studio to one established decades ago is beyond stupidity. Intrepid started with just a handful of developers for the first 3-4 years of their development. Most gaming studios have thousands of employees and have developed pipelines, processes, game-creation procedures, and tech. If the funding holds out in 2-3 years, this game will grow into a good game. This game's diversity in landscape, locations, and mob combat dwarfed the New World release. The group gameplay and combat were fun. In 12 -18 months, the game will make incredible progress. Once the core systems are locked down and streamlined, all that is left to do is build content, improve quality of life, and polish the world. For an Alpha 2 phase one, it was better than I expected. I expect the subsequent 2-3 Alpa phases will focus on the core game tech and features to ensure they have a solid gaming foundation on which to build out the expansion features of the world for years to come.

    • Combat felt good.

    • The visuals were good.

    • Mob diversity was good, considering it will only become polished over time.

    • The group play was fun.

    • The basics of the questing system were in.

    • The base UI worked.

    • Gathering Worked

    • The Nodes developed and progressed

    • The guild system and other core game tech, for the most part, were in place.

  4. Love the game, can see where it’s going and the direction is gooooood! Had more fun in a buggy alpha than anything else I’ve played in the last 10 years. It’s playing with people and chatting with new people that really makes it special

  5. Hey Jamie, been watching your stream over the weekend. Wasn't able to play too much due to queues and other commitments. post alpha weekend night cap would be mean, keep it up bro. See you in Verra!

  6. i think the grind will become unfun if they keep it the way it is , Lifeskills are my main pt , the lifeskills themselves donnt change enough with level gains to warrant the amount of grind needed. OSRS feels good because early levels serve their purpose and are fast , later ones are incredibly long. Ashes seems grindy for the sake of being grindy , imo i do think that philosophy will fall short if kept as is

  7. The server issues were maddening, but playing was very satisfying. There is a lot that needs to improve but the bones are certainly there. The leveling curve is steep, but the game rewards grouping, and grouping makes the grind much more fun. My best advice is to find a regular group or join a good guild so you can find a group easily
