What is Ashes of Creation?

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world. Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.

Risk Vs Reward
All across Verra, you have the opportunity to experience massive warfare, participate in epic trade caravans, and gather valuable components to craft exquisite items. Not only will your fellow players be your adversaries; the creatures of the land and the very environment itself will pose a constant and fresh challenge. Will you siege castles to become royalty, defeat other guilds to showcase your prowess, shape the marketplace by being a successful trader, or earn renown by developing your artisan crafting skills? This is your story, you tell us!

  1. Wow, literally opened youtube 1 minute after the upload

Edit after watching the video: I agree on most of the things said
Especially want to mention that for the first time when I played an online game – the game wasn't trying to hold my attention forever, wasn't trying to push me towards monetization, and it wasn't trying to get me to play it every day to do dailies and log off

Instead it's a world that just… exists. It doesn't welcome you warmly, but if you choose to – you can be a part of it. Truly, the second home that many MMORPG players, myself included, can lose themselves in

  2. I'm glad you had a good time. I saw you running around on the second day. It's been great to see most of the content creators, and it's wild how many of us picked the same server. It's amazing to think we will rarely see each other when there are 84 nodes. See you next weekend!

  3. The basic attack feels good for mage imo. Having the deadly finisher combo attack that procs my deferent element debuffs, volatile, burn, chill, feels good for setting up abilities like putting chill on a target to freeze then hit a shatter combo, or volatile with the keen skill in wand tree to do a magic def debuff into a attack with 15% crit

  4. Doing my first caravan, fighting over mayorship of New Aela, knowing 50% of the citizens, group leveling with random people I've met for over 7 hours straight.

This simple test was something to behold, I feel like I'm 12 playing my first MMO again, playing this test has solidified the past 8 years have been worth waiting for, and the next 2 years are going to be even better.

Edit: I also played played 38 hours over a 42 hour period and only had 2 hours of sleep from Friday to Sunday, lol

  5. I will be there November 8th then. Been enjoying GW2 lately, more than ever. My guild members who have put in thousands of hours in WvW, some of them have no real idea. I came to Ashes hoping it will be the ultimate Cyrodiil, WvW, open world, EvE online, etc pvx upgrade and I believe in the vision. There have been so many doubters but I don't want to be that cynical about it. I'm retired, so needing to play Ashes while my childhood is still going never was an issue for me.

  6. What I was happy to see was the quick response and communication from Intrepid on bugs and issues. Only reinforced my confidence that this project is going to succeed.

  7. i expacted way worse tbh only anyoing thing was dead mobs still standing and they could maybe make those starter quests more understandable giving us little marker on ppl who we have to speak with insted of asking in chat for help everytime

  8. I've seen people complain about small things missing like a LFG finder since Ashes is heavily catered to group based content so they quit because of that. Those are the same people Steven was addressing when he STRESSED MANY MANY times that this is not a completed game. And people called Steven silly for even needing to say that lol.

  9. Good review. That DDOS sucked.

What little I played, it was smooth.

For your computer upgrade. Points of note. There have been some reports for problems with the 12 pin power connector for the graphics card. Make sure the plug is properly seated and not leaning to the side.

Check to make sure the Intel Chip you got does not have the "rot" issues.

The 1000w power supply should be enough for your rig.

The RTX three fans graphic cards are HUGE. I got the two fan MSI 4070 and that barely fits into my full size Thor 2 Computer tower case.

  10. Congrats on the new PC! I just rebuilt this year, sprung for the 4090. Glad I did now lol, I heard it performs excellently. I know the 4080 is right on its heels, so I'm sure you'll have no issues. Looking forward to jumping in on the 8th with y'all!
