  1. I'm going to put this hot take out there – Ashes hasn't been in development for 8 years. They all but started over when they went to UE5. So that's what….3 years? Let's say you give x% credit to the first years, that's a total of 6-7 years? The single most ambitious MMORPG in decades SHOULD take longer than any of the other games. If it ends up being a total of a decade like Fantmx mentioned early on, my thought is "So? Why would anyone with any critical thinking skills expect it to take less?" Go ahead and make it make sense why an Indie game being built from scratch…along side creating game changing, next gen server tech…as well as being open dev like we've never seen…go ahead and make it make sense why someone thinks it should take around the same amount of time as other games.

  2. I'd be up for releasing only one continent with no sea. But this has a big problem, do you release the game with half server capacity or do you have half the population nodeless and homeless?
And if they release with half server capacity, are they going to increase it later and expect new players to populate it with an expansion release?
If they release with full server capacity, would that meant 2x player density on everything?

This game's design is so complex that removing a single thing like a map or a system can cause a domino effect.

  3. First impressions are critical, which is why Steven raised their Quality bar – which usually never gets done this early.
THE. ENTIRE. GAME. still has many TLC and quality passes coming before launch.
People need to understand this. All the core systems won't be in-testing until after May 2025.

  4. I love hearing and seeing your enthusiasm for the Ashes in the videos. I bought access to the 2nd alpha a few days ago, because I sensed Steven's joy in making games and not least playing them. And because the PvP I saw in the "Node-War" video made me think back to 'Dark Age Of Camelot'. DAoC's PvP was great because the outcome of PvP made sense for the entire alliance; – the Realm. And I haven't liked PvP since. By the way, I am a 60-year-old woman who is very much looking forward to playing with you all in the future of 'Ashes Of Creation'.
