Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

  1. I don't mind if AoC takes another 3-4 years of development with everything they plan to have on release. I just hope that our feedback helps it improve and hopefully make it come out faster.

  2. I think that YouTubers covering Ashes led people to believe that the devs are holding out from content, that the showcases are just a fraction of what's really in the game. But with A2 being delayed until May 2025 (because it has, let's be honest here) I feel like they don't have pretty much anything in addition to the showcases. I would very much like to be wrong.

  3. I think a lot of their systems makes their game unique and so if the game releases without but early it would do more harm than good, but some other stuff like the monster coins system, APOC, … takes time off their development for system nobody really cares about or even remembers it existed

  4. This game isnt even on my radar anymore. Ya'll just use this as content fodder at this point. i think Alpha2 beta1 whatever stage its in whos gives a shit. The point is the game is going to take forever its never going to be good enough for steven who is burned by MMORPG games. I honestly need a player like a real player to play this game im so tired of watching steven run around doing dipshit diving i need to see someone put it to the test like movement, macros (if any), objectives we havent seen any of that at all. The way an actual player plays and the way steven stuck in his fantasy world plays this is gonna be 2 totally different things. How you design it to be played and how players actually play is just totally different.

  5. As usual, you have to really pay attention to the live streams.
The AMA Steven stated they would be freelancing stuff out, which they should. There is just so much to do.
    Then lest everyone forgets.
    1. Jeffrey Bard jumped ship amd steven having to wear two HUGE hats at the studio.
    2. Covid lockdown in probably the most rule heavy state known to man. 99% of the world was back to normal and California was still restricted 6 months after the fact.
    3. Corrupted code found in their first test game.
    4. The Switch to Unreal 5.

I just hope the time Steven gave everyone to develop all these custom tools pays off so they can speed up development time. As stated again im the AMA he is beyong ready for the game to come out.
    Too ambitious? No.
    Longer than expected? Yes
    Any fault of theirs? No

  6. 9:40 this is one of my biggest concerns because they haven't came up with one thing, that will keep this from happening. And it happens in all the games that AoC is based on. Combine that with the lack of single player anything. a grind to end game, lets say 6 month or a year after launch is going to be ugly. But I am in the we arent getting everything at launch camp. Once those servers go up full time, the clock starts, that's expensive even for Steven and Intrepid.
