  1. 100 with perks or 300 with no perks, those are Steven's "default settings" for guilds. He's said it a few times.
I think mega guilds aren't there to play the game, they are there for their IRL LARP games. LOL

  2. at 56:30, I agree, people aren't understanding the whole Alpha 2 thing.
It's going to have Limited, "system related", testing of One type of A system, for All the systems.
The ONLY reason the world size will be "half the live map" is they needed it to be that large to test One type of Each System.

  3. 90% (repeating ofc) of the people in the "massive guild communities don't even have A2 access, or wont play the game for longer than a couple months.
People need to understand that Social Sandbox games are self correcting.
Personally, I think if we can get massive guilds to try to see what is possible in terms of alliances, indirect alliances, Zerging, monopolies etc in A2, thats very beneficial.
The sooner we know whats what and can show the team what they need to consider if they haven't already, the better.

  4. You are taking their time. Instead they could be raiding another caravan rather than protect yours. Which one is more lucrative to them. So if your guild does not provide a valuable enough experience or reward for protecting you and easy incentive is paying them.

  5. The thing with the guild charging you for things sure maybe when the guild grows it'll have enough money to provide players free exchanges, but in the beginning when the guild is still growing i feel fees might be needed.

  6. This guy plans like Eve online for 85 nodes, 6 megacities, and a 10K cap on servers. Do people think 3-5K of a server population will be one big corporate alliance conglomerate? Spread evenly across 24 hours. This means only 417 players per hour online in your shard. Even with a 70/30 or 80/20 split between peak and off hours over a 1200+ KM map, protecting every alliance node would be extremely hard. If the 10,000-server population was spread evenly, each node would only have 117 players over a 24-hour period who are citizens. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out. One thing about Eve's online mega-corporations is that loyalty is not built if you are a drop in the sea as a member. I would rather have one solid, fun guild where you are not just a number. Having been a hard-core Raid guild and PvP leader in some of the top MMORPGs, I can honestly say that the best times I have had are when the guild is smaller. A solid tight net guild of mid-sized hard-core players can run circles around a mega guild. Jamie is 100% on point about building loyalty and a tight-knit team around fun, respect, and friendship. That far outweighs headcount numbers. Any top raid or PvP guild knows this. 20-30 players who know how to Max/Min, group synergy, and nuances of the game can easily take down 5 to 10 times their numbers. Most know every class inside and out and can combo stack to maximize peak DPS and HPS.
