  1. '*'Intrepid delaying every time Alpha 1 : dang boy they wont do this again right?"*
    Alpha 2 : …. well…

hey, is as they say, they have enough supporters already, lol. So i'm not Worried. I will play this game even if its 50years from now. It will be cool to use my grandsons to farm for me.

As for communication, well, Margaret have a new blue lens and a new blush filter, yey!

  3. I remember A1, Steven would pop in.. and give us "assignments. "like go here, follow me get on your gryphon and fly to this location, etc etc etc. I expect we ll be getting assignments in A2 as well

  4. Alpha 2 will be playable, but not a finished game, it will be missing content, raids, dungeons, even the classes themselves will be unfinished.

The same goes for professions and gambling areas.

The most fun will be the PvP, but the strong hype will last 1-2 months, from then on we will be playing those who want to support the project.

The player who sees it from the outside will follow the progress from a distance, until the launch is near.

We must be careful with the hype and understand that it is a REAL Alpha.
The gaming industry is used to "Alphas" that are already finished games but they use that term to defend themselves from bad practices.

This is the birth of a MMORPG that if it is well taken care of will change the sector.

  5. I don’t think World of Warcraft or throne of liberty would stop people who paid an absurd amount of money to get into these alphas. If they are that dedicated to invest that much of their hard earned money into an alpha I think they will be coming to your game and not the competitors. This is an awful excuse given by intrepid Games.

  6. As much as I would love this game to be out ASAP. It's ALPHA 2. Not BETA 3, not pre-release/early access, ALPHA 2. People need to take a step back and breathe. I'd rather have them say "We need a bit more time before letting the players get their hands on it…," instead of giving us a jumbled mess for us to try and experiment with. It's not the end of the world, let the team work.

  7. I truly believe that T&L is sub-par, and hoped that Intrepid wouldn't let T&L's launch get in the way of them starting A2. Them delaying is safe and it makes sense if only because there are people that have access to A2 that also want to play T&L. My hope was that Intrepid would stick to their guns "This game isn't for everyone." and trust in their community. It feels like they put to much stock in the big streamers to stream and hype their game. All that said, I'm in it for the long run, the delay hasn't shaken my faith in Intrepid.

  8. Agree its badly handled. How are we to trust it wont get delayed again after October? Don't get me wrong a delay to October actually works in my benefit, but still. Don't make it sound like you're 100% about something if you aren't. Just be honest and transparent. If nothing else people who spent 100s of $s for alpha access are owed that, specially wheh they spent that based on the promise of honestty and transparency.

  9. They missed the date because 'of polish and stability' they ain't delaying because of other launches. As Narc well said, they promised time and time again that they will issue dates they are 100% sure on. Another let down imo. Lets's hope A2 is good.

  10. It doesn't matter because we are told it is a test, we were told it was a test.
So why would it matter what other games comes out at that time?
There are over 100k testers & we are told was enough.
We are here to test A2.

  11. 8 years is the average time it takes to make a GTA game!!!!! This Ashes of Creation devs better be hiding an entire game from us. If what we have seen so far, is everything they got so far, we are in trouble, and this ship is going to sink hard and fast. After 8 years, you have to have an incredible video game already made, its just tightening details after that. after 8 years you are on the verge of vapor-ware if people don't get their hands on it and LOVE it. After 8 years the world should very flushed out, and many biomes should exist with many memorable characters and high quality gameplay. If they only have the river lands done after this amount of time I might be out. My MMO of the future certainly isnt going to be taking 9 years to provide me something to play, its starting to be too long, period, time matters.

  12. Every new video from Narc somehow makes me want to watch this YouTuber less.
Unnecessary clickbait titles, too much drama and negativity from himself and I don't like how he thinks he's somehow talking for the majority of the people waiting for this game.

  13. Yes, communication is key. I think another major issue with how they went about this, is how similar it felt to that totally obviously fake game "The Day Before". That scares people. It hasn't really worried me too much, since I do think AoC and it's developers are VERY different than The Day Before and it's developers. This should still be frowned upon, and Intrepid needs to learn not to handle things like this here on out. The community expects more from them.

  14. bruh… it's an ALPHA test. not a game release, not even a beta… it could be delayed again and again because something breaks… hell, it could go live for a day and instantly break. y'all need to get your expectations in check. the developers don't "owe" you shit.

  15. I'm gonna get called an intrepid meatrider for this, but why the fuck does A2's release matter in comparison to other games? It's an alpha. It's gonna be a buggy mess that isn't even remotely feature complete. it is NOT the release of the game. honestly the less eyes on it the better probably, but i can already smell so much of this community getting pissy when A2 launches and it's not the fully feature complete MMO that everyone wants. Everyone is treating A2 like it's a full game release and that's all being concerned about the optics of release windows tells me, is that y'all are living or dying by A2's state at launch when the game is going to objectively be bad, and come october all I'm gonna be hearing is people trashing on a game in alpha cause it's not better than X game like you expected it to be.

  16. I'm not even sure October counts as a delay. If they had released it on Sept 30 to say they hit Q3 or they release it on Oct 1 instead, what's the big deal? Yes, I know it's most likely slightly more than that, but the point is all this really means is that A2 will release with even more polish. I would like to see them really ramp up production speed too, now that all the back end systems have been developed and are in place, lets goooo. Once they get those tested and flushed out in A2, I hope they're able to really start finishing the game out at a faster pace. Rogue, Summoner, other race esthetics for cities, biomes, etc. But the game looks amazing already and even in it's current state I know I would have fun playing it. I hate how toxic the community is. Well thought out constructive criticism is one thing, but people always complain how the corporate money hungry games are rushed and hollow, but then now can't seem to handle it when Intrepid takes their time to make an actual good game. 🤷‍♂️ Either way, I'm super excited. We're almost there guys. Almost there.

  17. Valid criticism but in the end I gotta say, even with all these mistakes and bad decisions, Intrepid still did better than most other gaming companies do to this day.
They are losing people over this who were hyped about the game, yes.
They managed communications not as good as before, yes.
(Insert here someone saying: "Well Margaret is pregnant and with that the community team is basically missing their head.")
Most of the current issues could have been avoided by looking at past experiences, yes.
But it's a fact that the gaming industry is as much of a clusterf+ck as any other industry, filled with… people. And people mess things up for no apparent reason. There is more disappointment to come, there will be more shitstorms, more potential players having enough. The world goes the way of maximum pain. Always. And as long as the game hasn't launched, consider it as it won't exist. Treat it as a story, a youtube fan series trying to invoke the old spirit of MMOs. Because MMOs are already dead and hoping for Intrepid to flawlessly perform necromancy on the genre has been cheering on the devil from the start. Not because it's a scam, not because MMORPGs don't work in these times, just becase they are going against the odds.
