I’ve been getting tons of DM’s in Discord, comments on YouTube, and msgs on X about what I think of Ashes of Creations server meshing, if it’s similar to Star Citizen’s, if AoC’s scale is as big as Star Citizen, and if Intrepid has accomplished dynamic server meshing. I want everyone to keep in mind that this is a LIVE HighLight and I have not even scratched the surface of AoC in terms of reseearch. Come along in my journey in finding more about AoC through the many misteps we correct as i show you the process in which I begin to dabble on a titles I’m interested in. While I don’t know much about AoC, I do about server tech and network coding. AND, while I may not be a “Scam Expert” lol… I most definitely know about what Cloud Imperium is trying to achieve in terms of Dynamic Server Meshing and the significant impact it will have to the gaming world if they accomplish it to the degree in which the have conceptualized it. You are not a reactor as much as you are a commentator. That plus the audience interaction becomes the "enhancing" that makes me want to watch your videos, even if I have already seen the video you are featuring.
I hate that he said and they still have yet to solve it… CIG solved dynamic server meshing they just can't implement it until Static Server meshing comes in 4.0 "You gotta build the foundation before you build the rest"
Ashes was self funded by the founder Steven, and any extra money came from people buying access to the alpha and beta keys
What Ashes of Creation doesn't understand is that the replication layer is not a single server. They do not have a single VM running the replication layer. I am sure it is load balanced and fault tolerant to some extent. That would be idiotic. Star Citizen also uses a lot of microservices.
The difference with MMO's like this and SC is they have vastly less data to communicate/calculate. Collisions and physics are not even in the same ballpark. In addition the fidelity of the game is very low poly. They don't need to track bullets, be persistent at solar system levels, support twitch based FPS gameplay, detailed flight simulation, destructible environments, complex damage states, nested physics grids, run at speeds from walking to flying at mach and sub light speeds, also they will not be working with planets or galaxy sized environments. There is so much they do not have to even consider with the basic MMO gameplay they are churning out. Which because of all that will allow them to probably support many more players than SC can.
Look, it's cool they are working it out and have their own implantation, but I think its a little disingenuous of them to compare what they are doing conceptually to SC without acknowledging the difference in scope. This – "it took us 5 years and SC still haven't solved for Server Meshing." crap is kinda a slap in the face to CIG.. but there implementation is nowhere near as complicated.
Star Citizen is an Alpha test environment, yet you can have truly unique adventures where you actually feel you are in the universe. Never got that from any game I've ever experienced. I can only imagine how epic this will be if CIG nail down server meshing. Nothing will come close to it.

I hate to point it out PES brought 8 new services to offload the DGS from communication and other things like NPC AI…
@DG360 Asmon saw it, but he didn't understand what he was seeing, so right now he doesn't believe it's possible.
Dynamic Server Meshing: "The thing CIG has been stuck on for years." That's a lie. They're almost finished with static server meshing. From my own personal view, once static server meshing is finished, the rest should be gravy. The basic function of Server Meshing holds the keys to the whole potato. Once CIG has it working, they will be able to focus on the automatic stuff. Not that it won't be a lot of work, it will. But CIG still needs to get the basic technology ironed out. Once it is, the rest is about the system knowing what it's limits are and spinning up and down servers as necessary.
Everyone that is a streamer with a million followers is now an expert in all things so I guess you just gotta believe that they are. Ridiculous, all these big names gotta quit acting like they know what the he'll they are talking about. Just shut up already. Not you dg 360 I believe you are just straight forward on your thoughts and make it so.
Yo DG, I've been following Ashes of Creation for a while now. Believe it or not, the stuff you're seeing in regards to the game's visuals are massively under rendered in this video. They've shown some zones that will be in the actual game, and I gotta tell you, it's some pretty awesome looking stuff. I agree with the character designs however. They are a bit lack luster XD
Who said it first and scale don't matter. It all comes down to who will implement it better. SC is not famous for implementing a completely working feature. All their features barely works.
