Server merging has been a pretty big concern of mine for Ashes of Creation. For those of you following the channel. You know this. BUT. Intrepid could have just changed the game when it comes to how these systems are handled.

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMORPG experience. Our world structure is dynamic, and built to react to your actions. Cities will rise and fall as you shape the world of Verra. Quests and secrets will unlock as populations gather and their needs grow. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real-time, you will have the ability to destroy what’s been created, paving the way for new developments, populations, and change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your experience. Gone are the days of static worlds; change is here to stay!

  1. If servers have to merge, then the characters on the server that will be deleted become "new world entrants", in that they will start in the newbie area, at whatever level they have, and "maybe" some gear they had.
What you get to keep will totally depend upon the server status of the server they are moved to.
IF they haven't had Events of the type to grant that gear, it's going bye-bye.
Also, since you are "new entrants", immigrating there, expect to have Nothing but your character and "some gear".
But, yes, the tech architecture makes it sure easy for this to happen. LOL
It's just a server boundary crossing, with filters in place, to a different server cluster server.
