  1. The most purest form of RP in a PVX game is to ALSO participate in PVP battles. That is the world of VERRA and if you don't like it, I don't think the game is for you.

    So suck it up princess.

  2. Ashes is going to be the Ultimate RP game. Imagine being a tavern keeper in a metropolis that comes under siege, just like any story you would have average people like a tavern keep on the walls defending the city because they have an investment in the city. As you both said RP roles are built into the game. My goal is some bounty hunting and rare resource scouting as a ranger, that comes fully packed with RP as the ranger comes back to a tavern and recounts his tales, etc.

  3. One of my favorite things about rp, is when rp is also efficient. I like the idea of patrolling with a small group within your nodes control. Exploring while doing node quests, grinding mobs as you go, protecting caravans and people from your node, and fighting people if you are in guild wars with anyone.

  4. As someone who has been looking for a massively immersive game like ashes to RP in for 20+ years.. I’m sad that they won’t add official RP tags. It’s not about being PVE it’s not about avoiding PVP. I agree with everything you’re saying about how flexible RP is and dynamic risk is going to make it so much more fun.

What we role players are asking for is not a pve server it’s for our small, tiny community to not be forced to spread out on “unofficial servers” we just REALLY WANT a higher chance of open world RP. We want a slightly easier time finding our like-minded companions to stand around in town and know that the /majority/ of people wandering around town are also in character.. not because we all want to use voice chat and “HAVE AT THE NAIVE”.. but we like creative writing exercises and experience with other people who are into that. It’s hard (but certainly not impossible) when devs refuse to lend us a hand with a server tag.

  5. RP'ers want to be in control of their scenarios. When you introduce it to the open world and dynamic world of ashes, they are less in control. Nothings stopping them from having their little RP community somewhere, but they shouldn't expect the rest of the server to play into their scenarios.
