Ashes Of Creation is hyped for sure but that’s not to say it doesn’t have some haters!

I did not realise until the day after, but the reddit post was made by Ashes Of Creation content creator @RitchieSH – Go check his stuff out, and apologies, I probably wouldn’t have done the video had I known, I am suspect you might see a much better video covering the responses on his channel!

  1. we just dont care anymore… an mmo is an mmo. if i have to kill 20 bears for 12 pieces of fur, its nothing special. being teased of something special is just clickbait. just do it already.

  2. He warned everyone from the beginning that he would not be persuaded to build the game any other way than how he wants to. The dynamic nature of the game world is not an old design.

  3. People thought they were getting a feature complete MMO 7 years ago.
World of Warcraft was in development for 7 years, a top notch dev team funded by Blizzard.
People have no clue what it takes to bring an MMO to launch and assume the wait means AoC is vaporware like so many other KS scams.

  4. Sometimes, critical opinions may resemble hate, but surely, there are haters everywhere, as you have demonstrated. From my perspective, I used to be very excited about the game as an old-school Archeage player, and I'm still somewhat excited. However, I practically lost 90% of my enthusiasm for the game during the PVP livestream due to how bad the skills looked, especially the mage's lightning ball, which was particularly horrible. I don't need to say much about it… But I still watch and follow every kinda content related to Ashes, even from small channels..

The primary reason I believe people are losing interest in Ashes is due to the new generation of games that look incredible. When compared to Ashes, they appear to be a poorly executed remake of Archeage, with some graphical improvements in the environment but terrible visual effects. As for myself, I became excited about Ashes around 2016 when people were hoping for another version 2.0 of Archeage, as even Steven himself desired because the company managing Archeage in the West was ruining the game. Now, with a new and improved Archeage on the horizon, it's easy to switch the hype to the genuine Archeage 2.

The last Ashes livestream gave me some hope that they would revamp or remake the classes, as they did with the Warrior. However, Ashes still lacks a distinct "identity" for me; it feels too generic. I hope they reveal more about the game's story, etc. I've purchased Alpha 2, and I intend to play it. I'm far from being a hater because I genuinely hope the game succeeds. The node system is unique and could provide the "identity" that is currently lacking in the game. However, I won't deny that I will also play Archeage 2, and it's more likely that I'll stick with it.

  5. i mean you said it. it was kickstarted 7 years ago. and it might not be out for another 4-5 years. no guarantee at all people who payed for it 12 years earlier will even care or remember it exists. 12 years is crazy…
