Thoughts on the risk for attackers?
cool vid man, and funny intro. I personally think they just gotta work it out so they got more risk when attacking.. I agree with the people that attackers dont really put up as much as defenders. Oh, Also.. First 😄 Edit: Actually a question that I dont know if it was answered already… but can I DEFEND the caravan as a neutral bystander ? Say there is a caravan outside of MY node getting attacked… can I jump in and Defend it, by turning on my pvp and hitting people… or will that just make me another attacker, since I am not technically in the defending "Raid" ?
I admit, I was originally worried. After more thought and realizing the population density, Caravan Hunters will not be a prevalent concern.
Man i loved this intro and setting. I really miss Law & Order (original). It twas great. Awesome job! I agree 100% with the perspective of the ripple effect. My first impression of risk for either side is the long lasting effects & consequences. Alliances, Node trade, Node reputation, player reputation, etc..

Great video Q. For now I think caravan attacker risk should be low. Attacks need to be present. Otherwise, long caravan runs are going to get very boring. Unless they have some enemy or environmental threats to engage, a run across Verra will drag. But that's just speculation. Adding risk for attackers is clearly a balance thing that will come later once we give feedback. Keep up the solid work!

I honestly think the system is going to be fine as it stands currently, but we will have to see once testing starts. I believe what shook up most everyone about the PvP Caravan stream was how lopsided it was Attackers vs. Defenders which caused a huge sense of insecurity among the masses when it came to the Risk vs Reward debate revolving around caravans. It really was a knee jerk response and everyone's anxiety skyrocketed overlooking the fact this was all staged to show off specific gameplay involving the Caravan system. Alpha 2 should help both alleviate and stir up a whole new slew of worry warts screaming about things not quite represented in a post launch scenario, so I think we all need to buckle up, slow down and think things through before overreacting.
