Their $15 starting experience at launch

Your $250+ starting experience in Alpha 2
Who's really wining here?
I think the ranger is the most interesting class to me visually and mechanically, however I’ve been on the fence about AoC as a whole. I didn’t particularly care for ES or New World. Think I’d enjoy AoC?
The ranger showcase made me really confident about the rest of the classes. Even for Tank and Cleric, to see how they get iterated on
Thanks guys for commenting on the post! (unfortunately missed it live)
I don't need to see a quiver animation. That's not needed in a MMO imo. Everyone is being hyper analytical since they can't actually play.
I REALLY like the speed of the short bow. It's exciting, and seems really fun to use.
Bard will be a DPS, Buffer, Debuffer. Depending on skill trees chosen, then add augments etc.
Tank should be able to do damage, at the cost of mitigation. It's like saying a Mage should be able to tank, but they would lose damage. There is going to be a cap of Damage for a Tank, and there will be a cap for a Mage to tank.
Tank will tell (NEW) players right off the bat what the Archetype is made for. Also most of the Archetypes are based on D&D, but Tank doesn't exist.
Alpha 2 is likely only about 25% of the world, we'll only know that piece, but we will know the progression knowledge. And have good info on systems.
Flying mounts – great it's limited. To many players only know WoW. So they feel "left out"
I hate stealth 90% of iterations in MMOs.
No Personal loot tables, it just feels gamey.
No loot currency. One of the worst things added to MMOs.
The grind isn't the same thing in AoC since the best "shit" is made by crafters. That's why themepark dungeons are the worst. And since you can trade everything, you can farm money to buy items you want, doing any content you want to.
What drew me to AoC was Steven's vision of a great MMO. Then it's a sandbox. Which has always been my best MMO experiences in the last 25years.
T&L goes console and mobile.
I don't need ults in AoC.
Yes get a Telestrator
@28:25 in the showcase video, Raining Death, it shows the Archer with a handful of 9 arrows before firing 2 volleys.
@24:29 it's clear the design team has studied different draw techniques.
@29:32 I completely disagree with Nyce as well.
Shortbow speed is what sets it apart from it's big brother, the Longbow. They must play completely different.
