  1. First —

I have noticed in Discord for a bit that some of the PI members being more quiet than normal. Makes sense spot testing is happening.
As for the GRAND MASTER issue. I don't think people are understanding the TALENT trees for crafters. This is going to provide a variety still, and I think everyone is knee jerking.

  2. Nice video good job friend.
Very good progress for a game that is in development for +7 years with +80 million budget spent already with 150 developer team size and yet the game is not even closed to finish at all. These are small features. I want to see more about Naval Combat, underwater combat, world boss fights, castle sieges, open world dungeons, underground areas etc, arena fights etc. I watch more streamers and most of them are saying that Alpha 2 probably comes within Q2 of 2024…

For many of players' Hype to get increased, we need to learn these to see the below questions and their real official new roadmap for 2024 and further; because as most of the promised contents in Kickstart Roadmap are not applied to the current game still. Combat is not so impressive and impactful and majority of skill animations are not so impressive (except mage class, it is the only class made me to play the game currently, even I always play as healer in most mmorpg that I like support classes most, and AoC healing class was not so good at all when I compare it to Tera Online and Lineage 2 healing classes, even Aion).

When is Alpha 2? how many more Alpha thy will make? To get into Alpha we need to pay $250 for an unfinished game to try it.
When is Closed Beta? how many closed beta testing?
    When is Open Beta?
    When is Official Release?

I would like to see real performance statistics about how is the FPS, latency when there are 500 players around to fight each other in the same area. For example, New World – recent video, we learned that even there are x3 factions, there is a limitation for the amount of players can enter pvp flag mode to attend to do pvp in that zone, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Thus, how the pvp performs in Ashes of Creation in open world within the same zone area?

  3. Another thing I’m wondering about is despawn timers on loot items on bodies. Like if you kill a dragon and can’t loot the massive scale because no one has a bag for it, can the body sit there for a week until someone get the bag to loot it?
When players die how long does their body sit there and be lootable? An hour, a day?

  4. my odds for the quarter alpha 2 launch. 45% Q2, 40% Q3, 14% Q1, 1% Q4. I think it'll ether be Q2 or Q3 as well but there's still a very small chance of Q1. Q4 almost zero chance since that would leave them no room for error.

In order for Q1 to have any chance at all though we'll have to get A1 level backers into spot testing before Christmas and the test will have to go smooth as butter.

  5. I honestly want it to be 1 grand master profession. I plan to go weapon smithing. I also think holding corrupted material should slowly tik your go away after having it for over like ten mins in game time.

  6. I love that Margaret and Steven instantly recognized you when they read your question. They really love the community.
Also love the idea of having 1 true mastery over an artisan skill instead of 2. Creating that scarcity in an organic way is such a rewarding feeling when you might be one of the few people on the server able to craft a certain recipe or gather a certain material.

  7. What I hope is that AoC creates communities that work together, and not just at the guild level. I think PKing will not be a problem if at a fundamental level the need/incentive to build is greater than the need to destroy/steal.

Intrepid do seem to be working very hard on the mechanics, so that the most lucrative way to earn riches and prestige is to build, yet in order to do that you do need to compete with your neighbors and keep them down. Hopefully this will create the balance between a Stardew Valley tepid PvP experience and a permanent dystopian apocalyptic no man's land, with no one able to achieve anything except mutually assured destruction.

  8. I'm thinking end game here….I would like to see servers that only allowed 1 character. given 2 years down the line, people WILL have 2-3 nearly maxed out characters and not need anyone else to craft something. MMO players always will max out everything…..This will also fix some loopholes in the corruption system (having a red alt parked at a popular spawn camp to kill other players)….i want just 2 professions in the same tree, otherwise you can pick herb and alch and not need anyone else to make a product….. i plan on fishing, and ….something else….i want to deep sea fish with a speed boat to get away from PK';s lol

  9. I agree with keeping the masteries to a minimum per character. That aspect of needing other people in MMO is what makes this game so appealing.
Thinking im going with arcane engineering but I need a little more info on exactly what that is haha.

  10. 1 is best IMO as well. In DAoC it took a lot to master a profession and those players were known throughout your realm, and all were awesome and didn't charge much or didn't even charge. You just brought materials. That was a nice part of why 'realm pride' was real in DAoC and why it had a such a epic feel, made you not mind having to drop what you were doing and ride on their 'travel horses' for 5-10 minutes whenever a CTA went out. I don't see Ashes or really any MMO recapturing that, just 'happened' because MMOs were new and players played to enjoy the game, not for other reasons… anyway, it does help build community though a chunk of new players get way too overworked when they can't immediately find a master to do what they need. That is a real world social issue where 'instant gratification' basically has people trained to expect it and complain loudly if they aren't getting 'instant service'. So, Ashes will have to make a good UI that makes it simple to find crafting masters and make requests, even if they are offline. (IMO)

  11. Not sure if I’m wrong about this, but I just realized, the 2 Grandmaster mastery options means you would need at least 10 other people who are GM in other areas, because of the 22 professions. Whereas if you could only do one, you would need 21?

I’m down to try either tbh 😅
