I expect test my ass off through more than a few server wipes for Alpha 2.
Really good video. Need my bard though.
You're too high lol… I think expectations have always been blown out of proportion. When steven does more interviews, I hope he sets expectations again. Its greatly needed.
My expectations are pretty low, I don't have a bead on the general community though since I only check in on the game occasionally. I backed the game in 2018 and back then they wanted to release alpha 2 by the end of 2020 which is pretty funny looking back but suffice to say I've seen the game evolve very slowly over time. In any case I am looking forward to testing.
Do you think Alpha 2 expectations are running a bit high? Comment Below!

Most of us who actually have an alpha 2 key know exactly what to expect. It's the casuals who are used to playing an "alpha" for a game that launched in Korea 2 years ago that are expecting a finished product. I'm expecting a broken buggy laggy mess at launch. I couldn't care less what the state of the game is at the launch of alpha 2, I'm more interested in seeing how fast they're able to patch the alpha once it launches.
I agree that all the circumstantial evidence points to the Riverlands being the only initial zone. My gut feeling is that the server pop will be little or no more than A1 at the start and the Riverlands is big enough to accommodate that many players. . I'm afraid that you are right about the Bard, but I hope you're wrong. The question that many fans need to ask themselves is "Do you want to wait longer, maybe another year, for a more complete game for Alpha2?" Even so, when the bellyaching starts from all the uninformed gamers who have bought into Alpha 2 without knowing what it's about, I challenge you to make a "I told you so" video. 😛
Well considering Steven has said A2 is supposed to be for testing and such, not for people to play the game and have fun. While yes people will surely still have fun with the game in A2, I don't think A2 will represent the game at it's finished point. I personally think the game still needs a lot of work, but they are making great progress. There's a lot of things we still need reveals on, etc. This month we're getting a caravan system showing so hopefully that'll be cool. Last month's livesteam was pretty lackluster, the event they showed was very barebones. But of course we need to remember that these things they show us aren't finished, that's the double edged sword of it all. Some people have issues with remembering that this game is still years from release. Not next year release, not the year after, likely 3+, at the minimum I'd say. So this game has a ton more to get done, and a ton more polishing to do. But that comes with time. And we want this done right so I'm willing to wait as long as it takes.
