  1. Honestly if we'd go with your idea Asmon about reward distribution in public event would mean a lot of ppl would abuse it and afk right away after they meet the 'criteria' this is why in Lost Ark a lot of people would just afk for island events, since they got same reward if they did something or just stayed afk after meeting criteria.

  2. I have had money in this game for 7 years. It looks like, by the time this game finally releases, it is going to be so mid.

I have no idea what they’ve been doing all this time. I hear tons of cope from that community. I actually do believe the game will release, I just don’t think it is going to be anywhere near as good as we were promised back in the day.

A lot of what you see in these gameplay videos can be slapped together rather quickly with the proper engine and experience. Gaming expos notoriously bait players, and complete games are insanely complex and difficult to ship.

The full game could be very well-rounded and actually pretty far in development, but you would not be able to assume that by watching this video.

  3. Selfishness and personal interest are not the be all of human behavior, you only think that way in the context of a capitalist society that necessitates such behavior to the extreme. If we lived in other types of social relations with each other that were not so universally dictated by the growth of capital then we wouldn’t be as selfish as we are. You are right for the wrong reasons, as usual.

  4. Since combat keeps getting mentioned every time a new Ashes of Creation video gets released, I would like to see Asmongold do a ranking of "best combat features" in MMORPG or perhaps what to expect combat to be like in upcoming games. It would clarify to his audience what he talks about whenever combat gets debated.

  6. Enjoying the visuals from Ashes of Creation, gameplay lacks originality. Asmon's quick take on variable triggers for events adds real depth to the immersion of playing a video game. Much different than, "kill 20 ______, here's your reward"

  7. the way it currently works is everyone that is there gets a base level reward without a limit on how many people get it. but the more you do the more you get type of system. right now its just quantity in loot they did mention they will be adding varients of quality later on. so it rewards you for just being part of it and rewards you for try harding.

  8. People all seem to be forgetting this is ONE of MANY different event and combat scenarios is Ashes of Creation. Some are much more complex and longer in length. Others are like this, it’s the diversity of the modes thats being overlooked.

  9. for a tab targeting system this looks okay, purely by the numbers tho. Good to see cast on the move (something WoW avoided by design choice, one of the many reasons i never got on with it).
Not a fan of dynamically scaling events as it rarely tunes an event well enough for most players so 2-3 out of the people there set the tone for everyone else and if you are there in low numbers the events will often scale so it's effectively impossible to win as the better you do the harder the enemies get.

  10. My main issue on looking is they the "combat loop" seems designed around ~10 second cooldown/rotations so once you get your core 5-8 spells nothing else will really make an impact, it's only copy-paste-repeat from that point onwards and due tot he tab-targeting you are almost always fighting 1 v 1 as few games ever do the EQ2 style of "red-green-blue" (single/encounter/PBAoE) area effects across any meaningful area anymore.
