  1. Ok but how are they going to stop the game from going faction lopsided in pvp? At first pvp is wild and fun but eventually the dust settles and one node emerges as the top dog. Neighboring nodes can't compete with them because they are the better players. The top node gets all of the benefits. People quickly stop trying to fight them, give up, and either quit the game or join that node. No more pvp. There is a reason the battleground system replaced most world pvp in games.

  2. I find that players, especially ones that consider themselves more hardcore, are quite blind to how games actually create a feeling of immersion and become "fun". They see these individual mechanics and understand them but never fully grasp how they all interact to create meaning for the player. It's an interesting paradox that only seems to happen with software. This interview was problematic because it was focusing way too much on very specific mechanics that the players felt were recognizable from other games, they have related positive emotions to. In this case, the interview seems like a fluff piece at most and both parties were just trying to get attention for themselves. I have yet to see how Ashes will make their world actually feel alive and interactable beyond a series of disjointed mechanics, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

  3. I find it weird that you guys get excited for a Tab Targeting game with skills that are of a Homing Missile type….when most people play FPS and live action moba / battle royals … it will not work for anyone ….

…it might be good in the first month… but people will be bored eventually !! ….

  4. I always play healers and I have always believed that if a healer can't kill anyone 1 on 1, they should be un-killable 1 on 1 as a trade-off. The more you allow clerics to kill things the more killable they should be. Now I realize that this creates a big problem for game designers, but my feeling is that this is where you really need to balance CC and mana/energy drain, as Stephen implies will be their approach.

Balancing 3 things is much easier than balancing 2 things and maybe you can get a Cleric that is just healing and CC, who can't kill anything, and is extremely difficult to kill unless they are ganged up on, but obviously they are going to be limited in what they can do solo.

  6. Thanks for the update. I never watch the sundary interviews etc cause i know you always cover it in a better way. The game progress is moving along well and with the increase of extra interviews and info release the game is deff further along then they are showing

  7. i feel like instead of capping tiers of consumables they should slowly reduce the healing effect of them so potion chugging doesn't work in long term like a 100%/90%/75%/50%/25%/10% healing effectiveness with like a 30-60 second cooldown
