The reason Ashes has pushed back Nodes twice, is they're taking it just as serious as you are.
For once, I'd have to say that I agree entirely with everything you said. 😛 The Node showcase is unarguably the single most important event in the history of AoC, because Nodes are the single most distinctive and most far ranging feature of the game's design. If the next stream is received as incremental, underwhelming, or bland, then the anti-fandom will gain momentum that will damage the game's prospects in the broader market.
This IS the most important stream for Ashed to date. It will be fiiiya!

I love freedom of movement and exploration in a video game. I love getting to express myself through a custom avatar in a shared open world. And when progression systems and combat are fun too, then it's the total package. Ashes appears to be a game that will tick all of the boxes. I'm not afraid to get my hopes up and I am very patient. Looking forward to your reviews on upcoming showcases
This is one time, I'd say it would be better if the stream doesn't create too much hype. In combination with ending a2-pack keys fomo, it could lead to many ppl that are not really the target group, buying in and then being disappointed when the a2 drops. Remember, it will be a true alpha test. Limited area, limited content, limited mechanics and limited gameplay possibilities. Everything will be far away from launch status. If you pay 250$ and expect anything else but a testing environment, that's on you.
This next stream needs to be NARATIVE based. I want to see the actions and events that help progress a node forward. I want to see the visual weight of the spacing of the buildings and how far freeholds are from the main node. I want nodes to be a place that I want to hang out in, not just show up to vender items and find quest givers. This IS the most important reveal to date and I hope Intrepid nails it.
