  1. The easy fix to raids and possibly having a race, is to have it turn off pvp when you reach the area of influence. And should have an easy on/off switch. So after you just turn it off.

    That ability maybe useful in general, not just for possible raid areas.

    Also down the road getting one instanced raid a year would be a big deal or take away from the game.

    Personally I don't care either way 😂 Cause I like PvP

  2. There is no such thing as gatekeeping. Everyone I know who complains about gatekeeping , has an argument that essentially boils down to 1 of 2 things. Either, "I want to make this game change direction and do something different, and people who point out that the game was never build with my new design ideas in mind, are gatepeepers. Or, "I want to get the rewards of doing high end/difficult/time consuming activities in game, but the people who organize groups to do those things won't invite me because I haven't hit some metric that they use to determine readiness/dedication/skill, and the people who point out that those metrics are in place to prevent me from wasting the time of the other people in those organized groups are gatekeepers". At best, gatekeeping is telling someone they shouldn't play a particular game or style of game because "reason X", but that isn't gatekeeping, you're still free to walk through the gate. It's like…gate trash talking?

  3. I like how Steven doesnt try to please everyone and follows something similar to how George RR Martin describes how you make a plot. If I recall correctly, it was something around the lines of:

    "Imagine you are writing a mistery book trilogy were the butler is the murderer. And around book 2, you read on the internet that a lot of people have already figured it out. Do you change the plot so suddenly, the murderer is the mother in law, just to keep it fresh and surprising? Of course not. If you change it, when people get to the reveal, instead of sayin 'Wow, I actually figured it out!' they are going to feel cheated or that the ending just doesnt fit. Don't change your story to please people"

  4. the idea is good, i just think the devs underestimate how much fun many people get from causing grief to other players. the penalties will have to be extremely harsh to have any impact AT ALL on persistant, unending, gankfest chaos orgies. I'm totally expecting the first couple months after final release to be an absolute mess until the devs scale up the penalties. it won't be too bad during beta, but once the game actually launches, it's gonna be nasty for a while.
