Iβve seen the topic of a group finder come up a couple of times with some MMO players having concerns. Ashes Of Creation will not have a group finder. Group finders are a must in my opinion. Just makes things so much easier.
We need a group finder. Not all of us want to be in a guild all the time, or wait for others to show up. Give me a POG any day, and I'll make it work.
NGL the thought of having to wait a long time just to complete content cause I canβt find someone sounds annoying haha. But I get it

I hate human beings
If they add dungeon finder/group finder I will not play the game.Simple as that. Same goes for gear score.
Something that can carry you in the area of the dungeon would be ok. Carriages, portals-That sort of things.
Maybe even straight up copy WoW mechanics where 2 people could summon party via portal stone or have a dedicated summoning class like, I dunno, summoner. π
This is probably the biggest negative I've heard about this game so far.
I just want to come home from work and jump into something, I don't necessarily want to waste time on logistics like trying to form a party or traveling to the dungeon. Before WoW had a group finder, it could sometimes take hours to form a group with randoms…even in a guild it took at least 45 minutes to get everyone together, have everyone join team speak (dating myself here) and getting everyone to travel to the instance. I think people remember that social interaction with rose-colored glasses but I found it extremely frustrating. A huge waste of time.
They have "bulletin boards" in both WoW and FF14, and they are heavily gated with absolutely ridiculous standards, that it's just going to keep people from trying content. It's not a great system. More detrimental than helpful, it became super elite heavy. Thats going to knock out people who just want to try new content, and thats just not healthy.
Give it a year and they will walk this back. Forced social interaction is a thing of the past. Not a lot of people have time to waste on that anymore, we have jobs and families, girlfriends and bedroom time π

The term "group finder" is such a broad term. I am more in favor of a "who's online," where you can filter your search by full list, region, area, name, organization, or class and level. From that, you can make direct contact or announcements in the relevant chat channels. A good example of this system can be found in gw2.
By no means should there be any type of group creation/formation tools, only chat tools. And, where it doesn't apply to Ashes, definitely no teleportation or quick travel.

Let me answer your question quick and even before the first 30 seconds. As a game developer it's in your title. MMO which means no social. The player has accepted this because the masses demanded it. What you are missing is the RP or Role PLay. In the modern mmo there is no RP because there are no delineated roles. You can do it all. Craft anything you want do all the spells all the fighting autimaed minion and on and on. There is zero debate to have. We here at forevergames are going to change this. Going to brake the chains that corporations have place and players willingly took on. Now streamers just need to back real titles and creative studios not the mega money publishers.
