I think we as a community tend to over hype ourselves from time to time, which can result in disappointment.
It was not bad, the cleric as a class is a supporting character whose only purpose literally in any MMO is to help others live long enough to finish the job…. hence it was never meant to be groundbreaking and exciting as some of the other content! In my opinion, it was as good as it can be expected!
I am a little worried they are showing things a little soon just because they need something for each months showcase but it is nice they are also using these events to get feedback to change things before work ramps up on them. Considering how many times we have had companies use betas and alphas as demos just before release I think we do not expect things to change much during them anymore.
Personally I would have liked the night to be a little darker with more light sources from somewhere as it looked very flat compared to the day

No! It got single heal, AoE heal and chain heal… And it is Alpha! All can change… But the ground was a bit bare to me.
I guess I thought it was mid. I'm gonna be a cleric but I thought the ranger and fighter showcases were better. Sounds like people going overboard on the negativity though.
People need to realize they only showed 4 abilities, not the whole class kit. But Steven didn’t do the best job at showcasing the cleric
I loved the livestream. Only bad thing was the running animation and attack animation of the wolves and zombies look very unpolished as if they were lagged but other than this little thing I really loved the ambience.
I don't see why people are whining about graphics when it's on the same scale as new world, and new world is beautiful (but I don't like the game)
Also they complain about having only 4 spells, but they forgot what they said, they want to keep most of the content "secret" until A2 so people can discover it.
Also you did an error in the video, the cleric showed 3 healing spells and 1 AoE, the spell 1 heal & damage which give conviction effect when use as offensive, the second heal cleanse and DoT, the third is the CC and the fourth is a group heal + buff.
You should watch the wiki to be sure
The fault of the people is in themselves. They were waiting for an ideal MMORPG and believed that AoC would be it. Love AoC, played on Alpha 1, but is but.
It was chaotic especially for a pre recorded demo. The group gameplay didn't feel complex or interesting, it was aoeing everything down. There were not explanations about skills. And that they didn't decide on blocking taking stamina was strange. Also why he had to go somewhere else to see another Constellation?
I just think people have to high of expectations for a game still in alpha. If these issues are still in the game a week before launch then by all means hit the panic button. Alpha is all about getting the basics down, not having it polished
We all overreact at times either that something is great or bad in this case. We want and need a MMO so bad to hold our attention more than just 3 months. We are trying to scratch this itch with anything and frustrated that AOC isn't done yet. Yes, we need to give feedback, but the game is in Alpha…the game is in Alpha…the game is in freaking Alpha. It is neither great nor bad. As frustrating as that is they are still taking feedback, still developing parts of the game (naval content), and even implementing engine updates like Unreal 5.1.
Let's show Alpha content of previous games and compare the 2. Do some comparison videos showing combat, armor clipping, world design, creature design, fog, etc. There you go Richie, free content idea.
do you think all the alpha 1 cleric spells are just gone, there are plenty of abilities like the whip and quick-heal where just not shown this time and they emphasized on the group synergies. Had they used all abilities it would also become more confusing. You should see it as just a bit more info to add to the ever growing pile 😊

I thought it was exciting.
I just went back and watched the showcase and it's still one of my top 3 vids of the year.
As I've said elsewhere, 80% of the mmo crowd doesn't even kniw what it wants…we begged for group gameplay, a different biome, and day and night cycle and they gave it to us and see what we get….ughh…this stream wasn't labeled cleric showcase. People just want to bitch and I think the biome and characters looked fantastic. Could it be improved, well of course this is just in Alpha. I'm gonna hush…a lot of concerns were answered in the live stream if people would just pay attention and listen.
I can't wait to see what they show us for this month. I'm so hoping the Tulnar reveal. Great vid as always. Keep em coming!
WOW… The stream was pretty kool. Why do people cry so much over nothing? This is pre alpha 2 video. I would of loved to be in there at its current state testing the crap out of the cleric and killing some zombies.
