Why Should You Care About Ashes of Creation?

Read more about Ashes of Creation ➜ https://ashesofcreation.mgn.tv

So coming at you with a video I’ve had on the backburner for a while, waiting for the right time to release this and I thought to myself, With the influx of negativity towards the last update… now would be the perfect time to explain why following this game’s progress is worth your time.
I get kinda personal in this video but, from time to time, I think that’s ok 🙂
I hope you enjoyed my message and maybe it changed your perspective on this game’s purpose and potential.

  2. "Even in retail, I would use unorthodox ways to solve issues involving customers" ………you showed them your crotch bulge, didn't you?

In all seriousness though, the reason I keep a close watch on your channel is you strike the right balance of copium addict, and bitter, jaded MMO player who can never allow himself to be more than cautiously optimistic about a new game, because of how often you've been let down in the past.

It's that genuine distain you express towards the disappointing direction that the MMO genre has shambled into, which endears you to equally bitter gamers like myself. People who used to enjoy spending an unhealthy amount of time exploring every inch of every map, maxing out every stat, perfecting every craft and gathering skill, farming every dungeon in pursuit of whatever shiny items we still required, and doing all of that in games like vanilla wow, and lotro, where even though they weren't perfect, they were insanely entertaining, and cultivated dedicated player bases who through their passion for the game, in turn helped make the game more enjoyable.

It's that particular part of Ashes that makes me inhale a little harder on my personal copium, because it really does seem like Steve and his team are serious about building a game that (by their own admission won't be for everyone) but will appeal to the players who miss that real sense of danger, and risk vs reward, who enjoy content that is designed to encourage groups and raids of people to work together (things like node progression, caravan raiding, and siege mode are all things that should make ones balls tingle)

So rest assured, that even on the days when you are struggling to find new topics to discuss, as we all await the next hit of pure copium from our sandal lord, your videos are always worth the time, to listen to the perspective of a true MMO veteran, who dares to dream of the return to the golden age of MMO play experience. Keep up the good work mate.

  3. I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this but Intrepid is bloody lucky that you've taken it upon yourself to promote this game independently. Your regular videos keep this game relevant in between updates from Intrepid. Love your work, your passion and love your Steven Shariff undies hahaha

  4. As alpha tester i played it, and was more fun the alpha test than 750 hours in new world… atleast was an alpha with pvp open world.. no like new world with pve players running and using bots in the middle of everywhere for obtain gold or platinum in an afk mode for sell it in webs.

Atleast Ashes of creation listen the community.

  5. Well said Narc. It's been awesome watching your channel grow. It just feels so organic. You definitely resonate with us 30 ish year old gamers who remember the good old days of mmos.

I'm looking forward to playing Ashes with you and I'm sure I speak on behalf of the whole community when I say we look forward to continue to follow your coverage and videos into the future even when Ashes is released.

  6. The end of Alpha 1, with the player and bear test showed AoC had more stable software network systems than most MMOs that have been released to retail.

Rumors are that AoC will incorporate Unreal 5.1 engine update. That might put back Alpha 2 a bit, but the streamlining of the rendering effects 5.1 offers would be to good to pass up. Such upgrades might allow more players per server, allowed for more interesting developments for the node system.

  7. You're awesome, Narc and your skits are S-tier. If you've managed to conjure out QUALITY content out of thin air and still to be this entertaining, I cannot image what it will be like when you actually have stuff to work with. And I want to find out <3

  8. I agree with everyone here man. You really care about what it meant for us 2005 WoW players and the such to have "FRIENDS" to play with. To have what used to be a social experience. Talking about life hanging out. I miss those days too man.

  9. I have to wonder: If someone made an MMO that captured the old school experience… Would it be successful? Has the player based changed too much to actually want this experience in the 2020's?

  10. Is this some sort of joke? You haven't lost our interest, you've just lost our attention span. When will this game be ready? I am guessing 2024-2025. No one simply cares for that long. The only thing we care about is that they don't start out at over 1 million, like New World, and end up at 10 – 20K. I totally appreciate AoC is taking their time. I just can't click so much so more, but I will click when the time comes.
