  1. I think it is good for the team to strive for a measure of immersion. With any rpg you should feel in some way that you playing a part, or a role, in that world.

    I like how you said if rocks disappearing breaks your immersion you weren't that immersed to start with. It's not a simulation, it's meant to be a game. Immersion is a bit of a two way street, the dev team can only do so much, it's up to the player to suspend their disbelief to let the immersion take hold.

  2. I think immersion is impportant but it depends on what needs to be immersive. For example, sound quality and natural background nature noise are good immerion. Something like what New orld did with echo noises is good immersion. Rocks breaking apart and staying that way is whatever to me but at the seem time if you apply that logic to tree stumps not disappearing after being chopped down then that is good immersion. Not everything needs to be immersive but some things do.
