  1. A handful more points for clarity: First, they did clarify a little bit regarding surveying after the demo. The method might vary from skill to skill, but Steven did mention "setting up pylons". So some sort of mechanical method?

Second, land management as a system seems to be linked to "zones", i.e. "radiuses within the world" per Steven, so it doesn't sound like these zones are tied specifically to nodes. Low land management scores will result in everything you would expect: Slower resource generation times, slower resource maturation times, less availability of certain resources, etc.

Third, I had made a point to mention the sound design for felling and mining being kinda lackluster in its current state and then forgot to mention it but it sounds like they're going to take into account surroundings and all kinds of factors when designing echoes. I think New World has spoiled everybody in that respect.

  2. Hey there Sechari!

It's interesting and refreshing to see the doubling down on the always on-pvp for Ashes. While I have obvious concerns about it, it's integral to the game they're building. It's my no.1 concern for Ashes worrying about the potential lsize of their market share by focusing on what has routinely been unpopular for decades but at this point to backtrack might be more disastrous.

Personally I'd have gone for a PVP system more like New World rather than open world PvP but I'm not the one making the game and not entirely their target audience either so my opinion isn't that important!

Talking about the survey tool and SWG, I'd completely forgotten about the survey tool! Crafting and harvesting in SWG were a different level.
