Let's think about later on with updates and expansions. Also I hope he doesn't spill all the beans and husbandry might be able to make a epic .002% flying mount, but still rare. After you have been in the same area for awhile I do understand a "fast travel" option. I agree with low level should travel, but what about in 5 years? What are going to be running down that same road a 1000 times, seeing a new low level on the way and just charging and killing him and taking a small amount of his loot. You keep running while he has to run back to his body and resurrect just to get killed by the next guy running down the road. We don't know how it all works now, but 5 years later??, Maybe a ghost train or a fly mount with a predestined spot to go to. Speaking of Dragons, I agree. Any monsters that is supersize would be ok with me. I end boss that is a turtle I believe would be fine with anyone as long as the loot is awesome.
Great conversation! Keep it up.
Iām fine with a limited amount of people having flying mounts
Cooperation is also a key part of the game. I can't see how even a Megaguild can hold onto a Metropolis node if they don't bother with any trading to keep the Metropolis going. Keep in mind this map is HUGE, and if folks don't want to deal with that Metropolis/Megaguild, there's plenty of other nodes in the world to level up~
What server area will you guys be playing? East, Central or West?
Flying Mounts will be handy for seiges, both castles and nodes, to help with strategy. So a very limited number would be the way to go. Also you have to keep in mind that they only last 30 days. After that players need to be re-elected, guilds have to keep control of the castles, or players have to find a new egg. Players don't actually own them they are just a perk of the job.
I agree with flying mounts it gives you a new perspective of the land below. This is a good thing and bad thing. When your a baby you know nothing and the magic of the world its size is increased ten fold giving a vast amount of possibilities. Yet when you get older your perspective changes of the world and the more you know the more the world shrinks and your possibilities shrink and you start to see the horizon and then the exploration and discovery is essentially ruined. However there is another way to see this new perspective by climbing a mountain and looking out at the vast landscapes or a watch tower of a castle. I think its good they are rare. Mounts (not-flying) will have speed boosts and such so its not so bad and it will still give you that fellowship of the ring feel. Just think if Lord of the Rings used those eagles Gandalf used in the end of the movie to transport the hobbits to mount doom the adventure would be over skipping over all that story and exploration and discovery.
Solid points. I do think the rarity of them will be good for both sides.
Your gliding mount will be your most valuable item.
Nobody should own a flying mount. As I understand it, flying mounts are a kind of reward for certain positions and you don't keep them if you loose that position. I like the idea of them being an incentive to applying for a mayor position, or to create and develop a powerful guild.
They should also be restricted in their abilities, like flying over oceans/mountains and speed.
I like the idea of assigning a flying mount to a general(shotcaller) in the large scale battles. Not to affect the groundbattle directly but to command his forces.
