Someone asked me if I thought Alpha 1 will be delayed for Ashes of Creation. While there is always the possibility that Alpha 1 can be delayed, or must be delayed, I think at this point Intrepid needs to decide if they want to lose little or lose big, because I don’t think there is a win for them here.

If they have to delay, that’s a loss and it’s going to bring a lot of things into question about the project. Intrepid has developed a less than stellar track record about hitting major milestones, and missing their Non-NDA Alpha again will not go well for their reputation or for really the confidence people have in the project. There’s just no way to avoid that.
If they don’t delay and it shows badly, it’s going to bring things into question as well, but that is a much more defensible position. You can diffuse that by reminding people that you are doing transparent development and that this is a Western Alpha. You can also make a list of the top 10 things people have major concerns about and quickly address them and show off the reactive nature of your studio. Case in point, the fireball. Intrepid listened to the feedback and changed up the fireball animation and that worked very well for them.

To be honest, how many of us are surprised given Intrepid's past delays?!? Sad, yes, but surprised, NOOOO!! Lol What did surprise me is that they pushed it back till May and not April. I hope they AT LEAST show the new combat they have been working on that was going to be in the build this month. "Fingers crossed"

Well while u have streamers like asmongold, shroud and timthetatman having their eyes on the game you want more quality since they gonna expose the game to million of people..i'm thankfull that they delayed it otherwise it would backlashed pretty hard

Realistically it's more important that people have something to talk about than nothing at all.
I would understand the delay if the game were to come out as a final product, however, it is only in early alpha and a big problem has already surfaced. This is evidenced by the fact that they postponed the release of the early alpha by two months, which means that something serious had to happen that they were unable to deal with in a short time. I wonder why they didn't announce it earlier, just a week before the planned release. I am more and more worried if they took on an overly ambitious product and now they have no idea how to make all these promises. Despite everything, I keep my fingers crossed for this project.
