  1. Lucky Ghost may have incorrectly identified the problems, but they still exist, Seven's response has still not answered my concerns.

Green players are essentially punished for fighting back. Giving another player corruption beats out losing half as many materials *every time*. And even if you do fight back and win, you are now locked purple and are vulnerable to a potential backup ganker. This is not only counter to what I would think is common player psychology. It also works counter to what seems to be the intended purpose of the flagging system, which is to help incentivize the player to engage in PvP even if they are not inclined to it. This helps the longevity of the game because a lot of the long-term systems involve the PvP.

  2. Yeah Going make and post mine tomorrow as a reaction, cause it was trash. He didn't do any research. And as A sub to his channel this made me sad I think he saw all the views that Josh Strife got and then just hopped on. cause he couldn't have done any research prior even tho he claims he is following the development hardcore. People are allowed to have there opinions, all I ask is that they are informed ones. Again he didn't do any research. and is obvious.

  3. I think that Ghost brought up 1 valid concern that made me think of L2 days. There is really no mechanism planned right now in AoC to stop geared out parties from camping a dundgeon and harrassing other players to stop them from farming (not kill them, just get them low enough, so they have to flee from mobs) and if the players respond and try to fight (becoming flagged), ovewhelm them with your geared out party.

  4. All of your ideas are fundamentally WRONG. Lucky Ghost was 100% correct in his ideology. The premise and most important point is that players WILL do whatever they can to exploit the system. Ashes is INVITING griefing which every single OWPVP games does. It sends an open invitation to troll, trash, pew pew, and treat the game and other players like dirt. You CAN NOT stop this. It's embedded into humans. Why do you think so many people regard social media platforms as toxic and unhealthy? Ashes CAN NOT both provoke and dictate players to behave nicely. You fundamentally don't understand human beings.

  5. I love your video's Xil, but I gotta agree with lucky on this one. While not a 1 to 1 system of a lineage 2 it is a system that is easily griefable and history has shown that no amount of repercussions and systems in place to make open world PvP enjoyable to all has ever worked. This is the issue I see in AoC! I believe that AoC being an open world PvP system is destined to the fringes of the genre and with the budget Steven has committed to the game so far I feel this could have disastrous consequences for the longevity and player retention for the game and in turn hurt the potential for future updates. Steven even said a million subs would be needed to be a success. Again I hope and pray I am wrong and have every intention of playing it but I have a sneaky suspicion Lucky is on target with his assessment here, regardless of some flawed anecdotal evidence.

  6. Hey Good video! My two cents. It did totally slip my mind that you couldn't CC non-combatant targets (which i was really happy to see steven say in the comments, massive relief), but as for the rest I was aware of it. I'm just not convinced that its enough to stop players from gaining the system the way they always have. My hope was to encourage discourse on the topic to see if we as a community could further improve the system that ashes of creation is coming up with to maximize good pvp and mimize griefing. Of coures a lot of people looked at this and said oh man, he wants to turn it into a pve game. ah well – anyways, thanks for continuing the conversation, even if you disagree!

  7. I think we are going to see a lot more videos like this in the near future. Lots of larger influencers are giving out incorrect information. And even if these things are true. The game isn't releasing tomorrow. We have years of testing and changes ahead to make it the best it can be.

  8. I think it was Tangenst of Creation that made a good point about how PvP may not be a huge deal until players start hitting max level since you won't delevel but would take the corruption penalties. Basically saying once you're maxed out you don't have to worry about losing progress as much as just working off the debuffs.

  9. He’s 100% right. Can’t think of a single successful game that gave all the power to the players. Newsflash: people suck. Whether it’s reality or virtual reality, this is a constant. A small group ruins it for the larger group. Always has been, and so it shall always be

  10. I think Alpha 2 will prove if Steven's adjustments work or not. I saw a griefer at the beginning of Alpha 1 who killed everyone on sight and camped the spawn point getting totally destroyed, and there wasn't even a full corruption system in place at that time (and they switched it off later).

  11. If Steven doesn't want griefing in his game, then just don't have the systems for griefing in your game! Like don't like someone not flagged for PVP be attacked instead of adding a subpar system to regulate girefing! In this case, Steven wasted a lot of money on having things added that goes against his vision which is dumb. The is, if that is his vision.

  12. His video was just speculation on theoretical mechanics which have similarities to prior games. None of it is being tested and probably wont be for a while. That being said, it is healthy to make a possible big issue known and out there to help guide it correctly. However, it would probably be more practical and relevant discussed a year or more from now.

  13. Lucky Ghost is concerned at the wrong problems, lol. Lineage PVP players rarely grieved PVE players or casuals. I was a hardcore PVPer when I was playing a particular MMO, but lemme tell you, it wasn't that fun to grieve casuals and most PVP guilds felt the same way. I swear to god, dealing with corruption system for PKing PVE players isn't worth it. We will be just get shamed by other PVPers 😀 it sucks
