  1. I'll be playing Ashes of Creation as a 15 year WoW player. I need something new and something worth sinking my time into. Dragonflight may be doing good things but for me… its too late. My sun as set on WoW and its rising for Ashes!

  2. That's the thing though, just because there is no group finder in-game doesn't mean there won't be a group finder outside the game.
Not adding a group finder isn't going to make people interact with others significantly more than they would have without it. Although I do think for those who will play Ashes before the game gets established in the sense that there are a lot of 3rd party apps that are tracking things in-game, will have that sense of community. However, after that initial launch, you can expect third-party LFG. I will add this, as someone in their 20s who've played games with matchmaking. The act of matchmaking wasn't the issue reason for not communicating and forming bonds with others. Matter of fact I've met a lot of people through matchmaking and we became friends because we were all there to complete a specific task and talked to each other while we did the task. Those who you like and liked you back would just add you as a friend and you'll do content with them at a later time or even right after. The idea of having to be friends with everyone simply because you did content with each other is flawed in it itself. I get why they are doing it and I don't really mind it but what I have a problem with is the fact that people feel the need to coerce others into doing something simply because they have fond memories of that thing. I recently saw a video where someone described it well. It's like when you're in school and the teacher force you to work with other students on a project instead of you just naturally deciding when to work and interact with other students during recess. Again, I don't mind it but the lack of LFG makes it feel like I'm being forced to interact with people throughout the world. This could lead to people just using 3rd party apps and now they really don't care about the people you group up with because if they suck kick them from the party and open up the group for someone else to join. This then adds a third-party app that Intrepid doesn't control and people can become even more toxic and put up requirements before joining. LFG doesn't have to be instanced-based, it just needs to be something people can do in-game, which means Intrepid can have some say in governance over how the grouping will work for those who want it.

  3. I am a be honest mates, AoC is the game for classic andies. But ppl who are into retail stuff won't find AoC that appealing. You will never find super hardcore and difficult PvE stuff like mythic raiding and high m+ keys in AoC. Its more for people who dont know what to do after WotLK classic. 🙂

  5. Stop blaming games for your laziness. You still can easily make friends in WoW. You don't have to interact with other players in low skill content but you can if you want. You'd be surprised how many players write back and talk with you. It's your attitude that matters.

Also a big part of it all is that back in the day online communication was a novel thing and you were a boy with a lot of time on your hands. Things change. You never capture back the feeling of those old days.

  6. As a person who grew up with the old style gaming where you ran over to your friend's house or you spent the night and you played on your Nintendo or you're Atari or when you got your first computer and you played the floppy disk of Oregon Trail or Space Invaders or something along that those lines I'm an old school gamer I came into MMOs in Guild Wars 1 and I made a few friends and then I played Guild Wars 2 and some World of Warcraft aeon Tara RuneScape I've been around the MMO Market there is a trend now called convenience you either pay for it or you have it in game finding a group that used to be a thing hours sitting in your local Stormwind or your ogre Mar or barons trying to find a group for dead minds or whatever in Guild Wars 1 it was trying to find a group to complete a mission but when Guild Wars 2 came out you started doing dungeons and then wrath came out and introduced the feature of random cues more for the convenience that's all video games are and Ashes of creation will be nothing but a convenience people are used to it they're trying to break barriers that are never going to be broken gamers are creatures of habit don't like things a certain way as a veteran a video gaming the New Age games are trying to break barriers that they cannot break ask their creation will never break any barriers it's already done before and it will continue they'll start out with no group finder and then they'll lose subscriptions because nobody can get a group because there's antisocial mentality will carry over from other video games and no matter how the incentivize people with better Loot and that's the way you do it there's going to be people on the forms complaining about it and then YouTubers and influencers are going to destroy the game this is the New Year this is the new Norm of video games have all the hype you want for this game I'm a realist I don't think this game is going to succeed the way it needs to I hope it does but I don't think it's going to and that's just my two cents not that anybody asks for it
