8:55 That's one of the coolest part about this game. You can literally come across a Barren Node and build an entire city if your powerful enough.
No other game has the players developing the world like this.

My biggest worry will be performance after launch. Like Yes everyone knows day 1 launch is going to be a mad house with guilds working together to buy out as much real estate as possible. You'll have bot swarms that will do everything they can to also buy out real estate so that they can sell it for real life cash online. And performance is going to be iffy.
No I worry about like week two performance and hope theres no lag. If that's the case ya I can see AoC being big.

6:35 FFXIV does the area quests too. both gathering and combat quests give a red circle of where it can be, and most times you have to leave the circle and return on the other side of a wall to find the last part of the quest.

Seems like the game is for people that like to feel annoyed and pissed every time they play it while also losing hours of progression in different ways. And don't value their free time at all.
Have a option in the settings to turn on/off overhead quest givers and related NPCs

A quest giver could cast a some sort of spell to get your attention. It isn't much different than a ? above their head, but a bit more immersive.

There's only really one issue I have with ashes and that is the direction they take with monster designs. Dragons looking slightly scrawny. Raptors like straight out of jurrasic park with no alterations at all just to name a few. It seems like some of their creature design wasn't made with a sort of continuity in mind, like they're all designed in a vacuum and not made to fit inside the same world. The reason why this is an issue that isn't as easy to fix in an alpha/beta is that it's really resource intensive to make a model, rig and animate it so to throw it out because it looks funky is rarely the case. So I fear it's gonna stay, and if that's the case then we might not see less exaggerated animations on our characters. I do know they changed the fireball animation but that was due to outrageous feedback about how dumb it looked.
The hate WOW gets just for being at the top for so long is over blown. Just accept the fact its still a damn good game in a lot of areas, its just been out 17 years and everything eventually ages.

I like world building and all that, but I hope you don't have to make it a second job just to make yourself powerful enough to compete.
If you can cut down every tree the spawn will look like Minecraft’s 2b2t. As I know most of you have some type of life. On this Minecraft server there are no trees for about 10-20 minutes in any direction from spawn. Because they like to make life as hard as possible for new players.
